We Wait
We wait,
Under water we wait.
Slaves of the past life
Hands cold, joined together
No more from shackles but out of habit
Eyes vacant;
Dried of tears, drained of fear
Yet we keep them shut and we wait.
Waves wash over us
Flooding our minds with memories
Memories of decades and decades of tears
Years of suffering
Suffering that began in our land
Memories of how they came,
The masters from the strange land
With things so strange, we had never imagined
And with the promise to take us to their land far away
The crack of whips still fresh on my back
The look on the master’s face, clear in my mind
As I refuse to scrub the deck the seventh time with knuckles bleeding
My muscles tense, recalling the struggle that ensued afterwards
My feet are off the ground
As my brothers lift me up at the master’s command
At his order, I am thrown overboard
The cold waters welcome me,
Pulling me down
Only one thought on my mind
That finally at the sea’s depth I’m free
My eyes are closed in thought
My hands recall her lifeless form
My belly protruding from the nine months of harbouring her
I had hoped she would stay
But like the two before her she refused
Every night with sore knees from scrubbing the deck
I’d wait, wait for death to take me
My bare feet hardly touching the hard wood floor
As I leapt
Over the ship’s rail into the cold welcoming waters with a splat
The sea whispering softly and soothing me
While she pulls me to her bottom
Here I’m free
Still I wait.
We wait
Underwater we wait
For what?
We are not sure
Our journey above water cut short
Our eyes never to see the Massa’s land
The scars on our back a distant memory
Our hands and ankles barely remember the cold touch of the metal shackles
Underwater free and at peace
We wait.
Ok so I saw a picture of this underwater sculpture by Jason deCaires Taylor and decided to write this...out of boredom I guess. Check out his website http://www.underwatersculpture.com/index.asp

#HeadAndNotHeart!
Before I begin let me stress that I have a habit of ‘generalising’…
so when I say things like ‘women’ ‘men’ ‘boys’ ‘girls’ I DEFINITLY don’t mean ALL of them in world… You get my drift? Its just ‘generalising’…
On the other hand if you are in anyway offended by this blog (I doubt but sincerely hope somebody would be) pleeeeeaaaaassseeee let me know @udi_chewy (Twitter) or better still leave a comment :)…
But sha… here it is...
Jack Dorsey may have blessed us with Twitter (a ground breaking phenomenon which practically eradicates self thought)
but as some of us may have noticed; 140 characters is simply not enough to express the strong views and values of our hearts! Nor does satisfy our urge to let the world know ALL the inner workings of our unique, clever, brilliant mind!!!!
& Though YFrog ( or whatever it is) & Twit.Longer tried to help us with this insane craving of self-exposure, it clearly hasn’t satisfied everyone (understatement)… hence the rise to stardom of Twitters older brother;
Mass Blogging! :)
Oh yes… A wonderful miracle indeed…
However, these days it seems no matter where I & Ruby (my wonderful Mac book Pro) aimlessly browse through on the rapidly expanding World Wide Web (i.e. the usual Facebook, Twitter & Formspring; Yes I’m still into that too!) we always run into one peculiar thing; a girl with a blog.
Yep a girl with a blog :)
My focus today would be on that...
It seems every ‘girl blog’ no matter how interesting, diverse, witty, fantastic or mind blowing as they might be (& honestly, some REALLY are I tell you) 99% seem to have, at one point or another have addressed, mentioned, debated, discussed, criticised or downright crucified a certain topic;
(wait for it..)
..BOYS!!!!
Yes Boys!
& we all know what I’m talking about.. or well the guys do..
The ‘I-don’t-like-boys’ ‘don’t-need-a-man’ ‘just-fine-on-my-own’ convention many chics seem to have adopted these days! All with same slogan…
Boys are heart breakers!
Boys are cheats!
Boys are mean!
Boys are animals!
Boys are ungrateful!
Boys ruined my life!
Boys destroyed the world!
Boys…
Boys…
Boys!!! Boys!! BOYS! BOYS!!!!
& ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH*
To be honest I'm getting quite fed up with it!
It is annoying how most girls seem to have mentally labelled boys as ‘shallow heartless beast with an insatiable hunger for sex.’ (I’m slightly paraphrasing here btw)
Jeez!
Come on ladies, are we really ALL like this? (#DontAnswerThat) -_-
But really though…
Where’s the credit?
Where’s the good part?
Is it really all "the Boys" Fault?
My Ghanian Oral English Teacher once told me that Women think with their hearts, & men with their Heads. You may have come across the female edited version, which ends the saying with ‘penis’...
But frankly I believe the saying is true (the ‘Head’ and not ‘Penis’ version tho!)
I think women should really relax… take a breather… & start evaluating things (especially relationships) with their Heads and not their Hearts.
Come on, you’ve been in a relationship with 3,4,5,6 guys in your life, &; ALL of them seemed to have cheated on or randomly dumped you at one point or another… (My sincere apologies yo)
But instead of jumping into the conclusion that ‘All Boys are cheats’ &; ‘All Boys would break your Heart’ it might be just as smart (or even smarter) to ask yourself …
‘Why is it that they ALL cheat?’
‘Why is that they ALL break your Heart?’
Now... WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!
Slow your horses ladies!
I can already hear the same ‘Heart’ answers coming through again…
“Because they are Souless!”
“Because they are Dogs!”
“Because they only care about Sex..” etc.
yes, yes.. this could ALL be true..
but…
Did you really know your partner before you started dating/being in relationship?
Now, this is a common case amongst women…
I don’t understand why you would date a player & not expect to get played? It’s like playing with a tap & hoping not to get wet. (the whole fire/burnt thing is stale mehn.. like really who STILL plays with fire? Its 2011! lol)
Anyway My point is!
Do not be stupid! #UseYourHead.
A player does what he does; He plays! & The whole essence of getting played is that 90% of the time you are getting played… You DO NOT know you are getting played!
Now if you’re one of those very few girls who seem oblivious to the traits of a player well I’m afraid you’re going to have to get played for a few more times cause that topic is for another day. :(
A N Y W A Y…
Listen ladies, if you want the richest, finest, smoothest bahddest guy in your school/Uni/Club/Workplace/Country anything… Realise Its Not Only You That Would Be After Him! We all want the best things in life, so keep it in your head that he has and will ALWAYS have other options apart from you. (Many girls are quite content being the ‘side’ chic) So regardless of if he has promised to never cheat, be prepared to work extra hard to stay above the competition if not;
YOU WILL LOSE HIM.
It’s that plain & its that simple. (Believe it, Boys have this (vice versa) in our head most of the time & if we really like you we’ll try to prove we are the best out there… even if we aren’t). So if you don’t want to or can’t fight for him better reduce your standard and settle for the commoners who will be less of a hassle ---->(yours truly :) ) lol.
If you know the boy has been with other girls did you really expect him to be a celibate when he is with you?
Don’t get me wrong… some guys will do this but not all fingers are equal.
#UseYourHead!
Don’t get me wrong… some guys will do this but not all fingers are equal.
#UseYourHead!
The dude has slept around with a million girls! Don’t expect to him to suddenly stop because you want to ‘wait till marriage’.
ARE YOU DUMB BLAD?
Hormones don’t have a switch you can turn On & Off you know!
He might even want to wait but hey! #BodyNoBeWood.
Sex to Boys can mean as little as a routine, a good time, a stress relief…
He may continue sleeping around & ‘love’ you.
You would definitely have to do more than just tell him you don’t want to have sex to actually keep him faithful. There’ll be a lot of cooing… diplomacy… & ‘meeting in the middle’ (if you get my drift) involved to actually make it work lol. Again I stress; it all depends on how much you want him.
You could always settle for a boy who is quite satisfied with kissing & occasional fondling. It’s that simple :)
& The list goes on mehn…
All I’m saying is read between the lines! Before you jump in & get heart broken and then start whining to the world & RUINING THE IMAGES OF BOYS BY PUTTING IT UP ON A BLOG OR TELLING ALL YOUR FRIENDS BULLOCKS!
Like come on!
It’s already hard enough to get girls these days already! Kmt*
FIND OUT ABOUT THE DUDE!
& I don’t mean call his friends and ask what he is like!
H E L L O?!!!
We are looking for dirt here?!
#UseYourHead!
Ex’s? Enemies? Classmates? Houseboys? Housegirls? lol
You know, people that don’t have a stake in him... sorta..
& if you feel that’s too drastic, well just watch him!!
You can learn so much about a person by just watching the way he treats his friends, family, his work or even his food!
#ShineYourEye!
If he is wicked & deceitful to others around him don’t expect him to treat you differently (or well for too long anyway)
I’ve found that they are too many girls, who want and keep getting the Mr Rich/Popular/Handsome/Don’tGiveAfuck guy & then end up wondering why they keep leaving over & over & over again…
Are You Kidding Me?
I know we usually want what we cant get but don’t go getting what you cant keep either!!!
They say Madness is doing the EXACT same thing over & over again & each time expecting a different result.
...Sound Familiar?
Please ladies, don’t be MAD
#UseYourHead
There are still 2 more questions I would need you to use as self evaluation but I shall them save for another day… Later..
& wow… that actually felt good! No wonder chics (ok & dude too :P) just chat loads of shit up here…
cant wait for the next time I’m in the mood…
Sha Till then remember.. #HeadAndNotHeart

Gosh, modest people are so annoying
Don't you just hate it when people know that they're pretty and then they try to act all modest (or try not to make you feel ugly) and then say they don't think they are? Please, embrace your awesomeness; or in this case, your prettiness lol.
I don't know why it's hard for you to admit that you are in fact, THE SHIT. This is why I love people like Kanye West and Eminem. They know they're the shit and they don't hesitate to admit it. In fact, they do that all too well...á la music awards.
So, I was getting my mandatory daily dose of celeb news and I saw these quotes from these [modest] celebs.
So, Jessica Alba said, "Every actress out there is more beautiful than me."
My thought: Would you feel better if I said I was more beautiful than you? Puh-lease.
Scarlet Johansson: "I don't think of myself as sexy. I tend to see flaws in my appearance."
My thought: I got 3 words for you, PER-FECT BOOBS (OK, that sounds a tad inappropriate)
Penelope Cruz - "I don't think I am beautiful. I can look good and I can look ugly."
My thought: OK, this is the only one person I agree with.
Megan Fox - "I don’t think I'm a sexy, beautiful woman. I look like Ted Nugent in a black wig."
My thought: Meg, there's a reason you were votes sexiest a gazillion times.
Nicole Scherzinger - "I don't really see myself as sexy; I'm the biggest nerd I know."
My thought: Now, Wait a Minute, (you know that PSD song right, lol I thought it was the right thing to use in this context) Nicole, you're a Pussycat Doll. Need we say more?
Salma Hayek - I actually don't have a good body .. .If you know how to dress, there's some tricks you can pull."
My thought: Well, Megan Fox doesn't seem to think so. You're her body icon.
Carrie Underwood - "I don't consider myself sexy. I'm kind of a nervous person in general. I'm socially awkward.... Oh, and I burp a lot."
My thought: I don't get it. What's your point exactly? How does that have to do with being nervous?
Well, that's it. I've had it with these people. Look, we both know you're hot and all and it won't kill us (or you) to just say, "Yes, I know I'm hot". Don't worry, we will try not to feel ugly. OK, now I'm sounding bitter, but anyhoo, stop trying to make us feel better by bringing down your hotness.
One annoying person is Brad Pitt. It's OK that you need to rock a Bin Laden for a movie but will it kill you to shave it all off after? No matter how ugly you try to look Brad, you'll always be pretty.
But there are some exceptions though...ANTM. It's funny and annoying how there's this one girl, Ann, who is the skinniest, ugliest least beautiful girl in the competition but she keeps getting the best photos every week. They say photos don't lie but now, thanks to ANTM, even Medusa can look gorgeous. Now, isn't that just something? Basically, to be ANTM, I don't necessarily need to be pretty (check!). But I can dream though. LOL
MOVING ON!
SO, there's this new boy band called "Mindless Behavior". They're like 13 but they're perfection. Now, if only I was still 12... But seriously though, check 'em out. They're cool singers. I posted their song below. Oh, did I mention that they can dance too?

I'm back...sorta.
Hey dudes, and dudettes,
LOOOL! That sounded way cooler in my head. I missed you guys and I'm SUPER SORRY that I, along with my bloggie, (partner sounded really wrong in my head) have not been faithful to you guys. In our defense, its not like we made a commitment though, but that's not an excuse for abandonment. So, Kore and I express deep and profound (wait, what's the word? apologies? Yeah! apologies) apologies.
OK, sorry time is up.
OMG! I have become boring. *wiping a tear off my left eye*
Guys, I don't think I got it in me anymore.
Kore, will you bail me out?
Or should I branch into the world of TMI's and pathetic sob stories? Ehn, that'll be a desperate attempt.
OK, don't worry, we'll soon stage a comeback. And I'm sure you're thinking, "How soon is soon?" Well, my friends, Soon is soon. I know I'm not making sense but I promise, I won't hold out for too long. Just gimme sometime and I'll be fine.
But before I leave, please gimme a minute to rant a little. On mu campus, I find it very completely hilarious and pretty idiotic that girls wear ugg boots with mini-skirts. OK, I admit, I may not be the ideal fashionista but c'mon, ugg boots are for cold weather and mini skirts are warm/hot weather. So, why should there be a merger? But whatever, right? People have their own weird reasons for wearing weird stuff.
Ok, thanks forlistening reading.
But, I'll be back soon. Real soon
And oh, I just figured that Khloe has the hugest Kardashian butt.

The biggest jolt of my life, literally
So, after getting hyped from the Uruguay vs. Ghana match (oh, btw, that was the best match in this WC), I decided to work on my laptop. I sat on the floor and started doing my thing. All of a sudden, I felt an electric shock on my lap. I sharply threw the laptop off of my lap and it landed on the floor with a thud. I was still wondering why the stuff shocked me, so I wanted to pull out the charger from the computer. As I pulled it out, my left hand started vibrating. My fist was clenched and I kept trying to force it open but it didn't work. I was getting electrocuted. Then I yelled. "It's shocking me! Help!" I kept yelling. My mom was still in shock, and while in shock, she unconsciously stood up and started fidgeting.
The bad thing is that I think I committed a sin before, so I started thinking, "God, is this how I will die? I haven't even prepared my last speech/prayers but I'm guessing this is it!" But my brother, who was right in front of me, dragged the wire off of me! End of my last prayer/words/speech preparation. Then I started thinking, "Thank God, I would have been gone" But my palm melted a little by the metallic part.
Believe me, all these happened in less than 10 seconds.
And then, my mom gave me the 'I-thought-I-would-lose-you' hug.
So, my dad said, "Your charger is faulty, the stuff was definitely passing direct current through you." And then I thought to myself, "Thanks dad! It's nice to have you explain exactly how and why 240 volts of current went through me. Now I feel loved!"
Well, thank God that my brother was proactive and he took action. Funny enough, he got tickled by the wire too, but his case wasn't as serious as mine. I actually gave this testimony in church today, well, without the last words and the sinning part.
Kore would have been the one blogging this if I had died, but I trust her not to blog about my death. Actually, I don't! The head would be all too happy to broadcast my misfortune.

Yes! I'm a hater
Football is not something we should kill ourselves over for but sometimes, it just annoys me when I feel like I'm obligated to support a team. Normally, I wouldn't like to go into politics, but it's a little involved in this situation.
So, here's the catch: I wanted Germany to win when they played against Ghana. Then, I tweeted/facebooked it. And I got attacked. I don't get it! Why should I support Ghana? Do I owe them any obligation to support them? I mean, whenever either country has problems, it's not like we help each other or something. So, why should we start claiming "African Solidarity" on petty things like football games? They are not even serious enough to interfere with our lives.
And then, obviously, Nigeria was garbage in this WC. And some people claim we "almost" made it to Round of 16. Funny enough, I didn't even really support Nigeria. But no one grilled me for that. They only knew to call me a hater when I didn't support the only African country to reach R16 in this WC.
And politically, I don't like the country cuz they're unnecessarily mean to us. When they had serious economic problems in the past, we helped them and took their sorry asses into employment. But now, they're making life difficult for those who have businesses in their country by inflicting stringent measures on them just to frustrate them and make them want to bring their companies back home. I will never support ungrateful people; and I'm sorry but if this is what makes me a hater, I embrace the title with pride.
Well, I'm cool with my Ghanaian friends cuz they have nothing to do with whatever their government is doing but they should not kill me if I refuse to support them in a football match.

Maybe...
So, I got home safely. Well, if I didn't I wouldn't be here now, would I? There were no annoyances on my flight, happily!, except for this one idiotic Nigerian man who kept yelling at the flight attendant cuz she asked him to remove his hefty hand luggage from the back of the seat next to the bathroom, where they usually keep the fire extinguisher and defibrillator. I mean, is it that hard to understand that those things are there for emergencies? Well, moving on!
Gosh, African Magic movies kill me. And the sad thing is that my mom will never stop watching 'em which only means that we will NEVER stop watching them too. But that can be handled :)
Also, there's this useless stuff that keeps sending me junk mail. It always says, Why Wait, have an affair with a cheating wife today". Well that can been handled too!
So, I was getting back home from the airport and my mom and brother were filling me in with my dose of house news. And then they told me that my 19-year old cousin just had a baby. At first, I was cracking up cuz I thought it was a joke but it actually turned out to be true. LOOOOL!!! When I was talking but teen pregnancy about 2 months ago, I didn't even know she was knocked up. No one even knew she was! Her mom just called my dad and told him those very beautiful words. I mean, having a baby is a very beautiful thing, don't get me wrong but I don't think she planned it to happen that way. SMH.
Well, no one even seems to be freaking out about it, except me! Everyone seems very OK and calm but I AM NOT! How can I be? Or maybe they are just too angry to talk about it. My other cousin said to leave the matter alone but I'm not ready to let go. It's too shocking for me.
Anyhow, I feel better now. Maybe people make mistakes. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe I should stop freaking out. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it. Maybe things will eventually work out. Maybe it was God's wish.
On the other hand, Maybe people don't make mistakes, maybe they just have that urge to do the wrong things. Maybe it wasn't a mistake. Maybe I should not stop freaking out. Maybe I should worry about it. Maybe things won't work out eventually. Maybe it wasn't God's wish.
We never know. Shit just happens. And we just have to handle it. I believe in fate a lot, but I also believe that we are the ones who decide the things that happen to us too. It's not just what life dealt us, it's also what we dealt ourselves. But whether it's fate or not, sometimes, we just happen to be shit out of luck!

Battle of the exes 2
STOP!
Before you go on and read, make sure you have read Part 1. Well, its not like I would know if you have read it first and yell at you or not, but if you're a little rebel like me, I would read this part before I read part 1. No, but seriously, you must scroll down and read part 1 first!
Once again, Nifty co-wrote this post, about 80%. And by post, I mean from the first letter to the last punctuation. Why am I even particular about the percentage though? Well, plagiarism has kicked many people in their asses in this country, and I'm not about to be a statistic. Thank you!
Ok, back to the story. From here on off, it's Nifty. She's our honored guest blogger for the Battle of the Exes Series. Love you honey!
What's worse than the situation of the "platonic" exes, is the opposite situation. Why can't people break up amicably? You take your heart and I'll take mine, no breaking and hurting involved. I mean seriously, do you really want to say all the things you are thinking? I guess its okay if you are never going to see the person again (maybe apart from the obligatory hi and one syllable conversation you both have when you happen to meet online and even then you can always pretend you don't see the message).
Let's be honest with ourselves how uncomfortable is it to say all the horrible and in some cases amazingly inventive insults (shout out to Motunrayo, Funto and Bimbo) to your ex when you both run in the same circles and are gonna have to see each other often. Not only do you put the innocent bystanders (we the friends again, sigh, "the things we do for love" - courage the cowardly dog--> (totally random : P)) in the awkward position of choosing sides, you are faced with the future problem of 'what happens next?' I find that couples in this category do either or both of these foolish things, ignore the other person when he/she is around, I swear I am tempted to slap someone when exes do the Chinese whisper thing and as usual the girl starts it:
*note that Jack is probably sitting opposite Jill
To poor friend - "tell Jack that I am not speaking to him and he should stop making random comments"
If the guy is as dumb as her
To poor friend - "tell Jill that she can tell me herself"
and so the story goes.

On the other hand exes might choose the my boyfriend is better than your girlfriend phase which usually ends with both of them deteriorating into the 5 year old argument territory (this too - is not argument). Just talking about this situation makes me tired, my cousin used to say that having an ex makes your friends redundant and recently I have seen that she was not just speaking randomly (as I thought and usually think of her) but impacting wisdom. If I keep having more friends like this, I might join one of those strict convents where the people don't speak (probably won't happen, but I always have the option of carrying a tummy gun when friend visiting ]:D (devil)).
Once again, Watch out for PART 3
Once again, Watch out for PART 3
Battle of the exes 1
Don't you just hate when someone tells you "FOH, I don't need this" but then they keep bugging you? Of course you do! 'Cuz then you already made up your mind to shut them out, Right? Psych! Well, while some people are so quick to moved on, some are equally never gonna let go.
So, we have varieties of exes. Those who don't like each other, those who still like each other but pretend it's platonic, those in which one still likes the other but not vice versa. Well, this part will be about those who still like each other. Oh and before I start, Nifty, my hunnybunny, wrote 70% of this post.
There are few things I find more annoying than corny pick up lines ( I mean "here's my number in case you need prayers"! The guy who used that should be stripped of all things male and burnt at a stake!), and one of them is the 'ex' situation as I think I have so cleverly nicknamed it (if you don't think its clever keep it to yourself). I mean really, if you still like your ex then why pretend that you don't? Boy and girl do the irritating "do you still think he/she likes me?" thing with their friends, who are innocent bystanders did not deserve to have their food travel the long trip back up. Guys have it better I think because they cannot openly ask and pester their friends the way girls do, I think its one of those unspoken guy rules, page 141 "thou shalt not behave like a ninny." Unfortunately for us girls, we do not have this guy code rule book and so when the love bug bites us or in this case bites us again with the same person we do the dumb thing and pester our friends.
Well, girls have codes too but the story about Girl codes will definitely be for another day. Ridiculous!
You are probably wondering why I feel so strongly about this topic, well it goes like this, I made a friend who has this friend who has this friend and so naturally we are now all friends (confused? Read it slowly). Anyway, this last friend recently broke up with her boyfriend, you'd think that's the end right? Hell no!! She's asking me for advice (now can someone tell me why some white people seem to think that black people have the answers to the universe? Well that's a story for another day), now it's not the asking for advice that's annoying but the not taking it.
"Should I pick up the phone?"
"yes"
"No I won't pick up the phone, I have to make him suffer"
Maybe I would be more sympathetic if I took her silliness in small doses but it gets nauseating when you keep seeing the same cycle over and over again, it's like watching all those old horror movies when you know what's going to happen and you keep telling the guy in the movie not to open the basement door but he does it anyway and his head gets cut off. Needless to say my friends friends friend and the guy are still going round in circles (thank God I'm traveling out of easy cell phone range).

I mean, if you feel you and your ex have unfinished business, why can't both of you just face your fears and talk about it? Why must you pretend that you're "just" friends? And by the way, people sometimes hide behind the friendship clutch and torture the hell out of themselves.
Ok, so like a Nigerian movie, "THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. WATCH OUT FOR PART 2!!!" loool but where do those crazy movie producers get off doing that? SMH!

Battle of the sexes
I have been dreading this topic all along but you know what, I have to blog about it!
Why must girls suffer? Why must boys be players. Blah Blah Blah. No matter how many questions people ask, they will never end because they keep questioning why the girl, more often than they guy, ends up losing. And it is very true. Even if they have control of the relationship, they still lose! Why? This semester, I'm taking a Women Studies class and no matter what I say or no matter how I pass this class - which by the way, is best achieved by sucking up to the teacher and telling her what she wants to hear - there will almost never be equality between the sexes! Take it or leave it. And it all starts from when God made the woman second. Look, I have no problem with this, but it is the main determinant of why men are always put before women. Actually, I hate using the words "man" and "woman", so I will stop! And use "guys" and "girls"
So, let's look at the case of the nice guy and the nice girl. This is the relationship many people wish for themselves but almost never get. It's probably blissful and full of sunshine and puppies and everyone always has a nice day. I'm sure the only problem they may have is when the girl asks the guy, "Babe, does this dress make me look fat?" and then the guy doesn't know the right thing to say. He's in trouble anyway if he says yes, so he might as well say No. And both of you are there, living in your "Utopias". Ooooh isn't life just swell? Well, it is :)
Then, we have the controversial case of the nice girl and the bad guy. Seriously, why must good, accomplished girls settle for less and start boo-hooing about how he's being a jerk and not treating her nice, and how he comes home late, and ignores her 27 missed calls, and how he keeps having boys' nights out and not paying attention to her when she's bitching about her friends; and how he's being shady and she's being faithful, and how he's a commitment-phobe and she's been hoping they'll wed since the day the met; and how he's Godzilla and she's barbie and how he's all jokes and she's yada yada yada...Ok, I'm not trying to sound like Rev Run here but why are you still here if you hate how he treats you?
And of course, we have the bad girl and the nice guy. The guys in this situation are probably the ones who will say, "Fuck these bitches, I'm a player now" after some evil chic plays them. Deep inside, they're very nice but due to previous bitch-slapping(s), they now know not to roll nicely anymore. During the relationship, they probably wondered that the girl was bad news but while they're pondering on that, she goes ahead and does something nice and then it changes their mind and they think again, "What was I thinking? She was made for me!" Well, snap out of it cuz she's not! And then, she shows some bad signs and you start thinking again. And then, the cycle keeps going. In fact, you think too much and you'll drive yourself to cardiac arrest. But nice guys, please keep being nice. Or have we lost you all to blood-sucking meanies?
Finally, we have the couple of shrews; the bad guy and the bad girl. Well, in this relationship, they're both stubborn and no one here seems to be bothered by what the other does; or at least, they don't show that they care. Even if some people think it's the right thing to do, it's not. I'm kinda sure most shrews (and I use the term loosely) are just trying to be safe. They don't want want to get their heart broken, and then, they start playing mind games, exchanging carefully composed witty conversations, paying back when either one does something wrong. Their life motto is "I don't get mad, I get even". Well, while this may work in the short run, you may not necessarily benefit from the relationship in the long run.
Of course no one want to get their heart broken but it still happens anyways, which brings us to the point made earlier about girls suffering. But sometimes though, girls can be their own worst enemies. We say we don't like stuff, yet we end up doing it anyway because we see a little potential in them. It's just like being allergic to peanuts and still end up eating Snickers cuz you like chocolate. Oh yeah, we try to think we'll be able to see the good in something or someone and end up getting involved. More than half of the time, people never change, so why bother?

Do not cry over wet Hair
Yep! Not spilled milk, wet Hair!
OK, ever since freshman year, I've developed a love-hate relationship with my hair; wait, not only my hair, it's Hair in general. Tiwo is inspired this one about a couple of weeks ago, when I dyed my hair, again! So, I was skyping with him in the library (it felt so wrong) and then we were on web-cam. The convo was going normal as usual until he said these non-beautiful words to me, "You look like a Ghetto Nicki Minaj" It's not as if that was the turning point of my Hair life but it actually brought up this hair topic. Look, as much as I love to talk, I'm a good listener as well. You may not know but I always clearly remember remarkable quotes, so never underestimate talkative people. And btw, please define ghetto.
So, I've been amassing a lot of things about hair so I won't give you baloney, I hope this still isn't baloney. As much as I don't like talking about race, I think it's so involved in this situation that it can't be avoided. I mean, what's with black girls and hair? It's not that serious, so don't kill yourself about it. Well, I don't think much of hair anymore. I see it too much, with people flicking it up and down; whether real or fake.
There are some people who will huff and puff if you tell them they're wearing a weave. Loool. But you're wearing a weave! There was this one girl. I asked if she was wearing a weave cuz I wasn't sure (ok, I was sure but I was trying to taunt her) and then, she flipped. I just found it rather funny.
And then, there's this one quote that's so swift to come out of many weave-wearers' mouths: "I bought it, so it's mine!" Of course it's yours! Pssssh, psych! It's yours but yet you still toss it after it has served its purpose. So, it's not yours anymore?
Ok, I'm not saying it is wrong to wear a weave, don't get me wrong, but at least embrace it :) I know I will! But I don't like 'em. They make you hot and sticky. And what is it with getting your hair wet? I've seen a lot of people freak out cuz their hair got wet by the rain. What's there to lose? You just go on home and blow-dry. Problem solved!
But it's also funny when people flick their weaves up and down. I've seen a few Wendy Williams episodes and that's exactly what she does. Flipping the hair left and right. Well, I don't even know why I'm doing this. Please keep rocking your weave! After all, you bought it, so its yours :)

Here comes the bride...NO, scratch that, she got Nothing on You
Oh I hate that I don't sleep at night. I try studying whenever I'm not sleeping, hoping it will put me to bed but nope! I'll still be wide awake. Well, the last movie I saw had to do with a wedding so, I have decided to blog about my wedding day.
For a while now, you'll be surprised how long; I have thought about how my wedding will be. When I was younger I could swear that I would have a big church/white wedding (and by younger, I mean before seeing the Hangover - Oh BTW, its the best movie everrrrr. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do!) So, after seeing the Hangover, I thought I would elope (even if my parents want me to marry the guy) to Las Vegas and get married by Elvis in a wedding chapel but please, what was I thinking? Well, I still think it's possible...erm, No, it's not.
So, I am not exactly looking forward to my wedding day but here is what I want when (or if) I will be getting married. I'm not asking for much, ok? Just a couple of things. Oh yeah, my final decision is a church wedding.
First, I DO NOT, and I repeat, NOT want them to play "Here comes the bride" while I'm walking down the aisle! Well, we all know that is the damn bride, we don't need to hear the song or tune! Speaking of that, I want them to play "Nothing on You" by B.O.B. Now, I know this song will be pretty old when I'm getting married but I think it beats all other songs that could be played. Now, if you have any better suggestion, I'm all ears!
Secondly, I don't wanna wear white on my wedding day. There, I said it! I don't know how true this is but tradition says white wedding dresses were supposed to symbolize purity. Screw that! Look, I don't need a white dress to be pure. Sorry, but sometimes, I think white symbolizes emptiness, void, blandness. As a matter of fact, I want a Red wedding dress. It tells more. And why must we follow tradition? Is there a rule book that says: "Wear a white dress or else..."? Well, I didn't think so either. Thank you!
Who am I even fooling? How am I sure I'll get married? On a normal day, I loathe Bridezillas (if in doubt of the meaning, Urban Dictionary to the rescue!) but I'm just trying to make things clear so that if my future dude is reading this, he'll know...Psych! Which useless dude?
Well, I think I feel sleepy now. Oh yeah, one of my friends throughout yesterday, on twitter, kept telling me that I'm a dull babe lol. Maybe it's true sef cuz I'm even dulling myself to sleep. Or not! It's freaking 4:30am. The night/morning is dull enough to make me sleep.
Moving on! Before my future dude proposes, I'll be the first to do it. I'll beat him to it.
So, dear future dude, will we marry already?
Oh yeah, Kore said to tell you that he pities you (and a bunch of other people agree too). But don't worry, I'm not a monster *goo goo eyes*

Girls' Night Out
Wow!!! That is all I can say. The fact that old men feel the need to fondle young ladies worries me a lot. I was just wondering some random ancient ass with wife and kids friend younger girls in facebook until this happened to us...
Well, yesterday, I decided to have my birthday dinner ever since April 4th, the day we got back from Spring break. So, we all decided to go to Ali Baba on Main Street. I will post the pic when Jo uploads them.
Jules was running late so, Jo, La and I started to take pictures before she came and we ordered the food. It took forever though so we were filling up on some Lebanese flatbread and Hummus. And then, Jules came. And then, the food came. We were kinda full, so we barely ate and then, we did take out. Before we left, we decided to take "more" pictures. We got our check and paid. When we started taking the pictures, everyone had already left except those who were outside smoking hookah.
Ok! Enough beating round the bush!
So, while we started taking pictures, one old guy came out and said hi. The guy who gave us the check said he was his uncle. While taking the pictures, the old guy decided to join us in the pic. And because the staff was always nice while waiting on us, we said why the hell not. First, the four of us took general pictures and then the old guy told us to grab each others' boobs. We actually thought he was joking until he walked towards us and grabbed Jules' boobs. Shocker #1. Immediately that happened, Jules flew out, La fell on the chair and Jo, who was gobsmacked, grabbed me (not in the boobs).
So, we got over it. Next picture. We wanted to take another one this time, without the old guy, so once again, he walks towards us and asks us to grab each others' asses. With that, he grabs Jules' ass. It was Jules again! Shocker #2. This time around, we all sat our asses down and laughed to death. We decided to avoid him now, so we postponed our picture taking till later. No, make that never! We didn't take any pictures again.
Shocker #3. We didn't even sue him for sexual harassment. Of course, we can't sue the fool sef but at least we should have done something. But we just kept laughing in shock. Kinda made us look like we liked it; BUT WE DIDN'T. Wait, I'm getting defensive. BUT WE DIDN'T!!! And it was funny that he kept grabbing Jules. Hey, she was even the one least dressed-up. She wore a jeans and a goddamn hoodie. My dress and La's screamed "grab us!" But he went for Jules. Once again, It wasn't as if we wanted him to.
After we left Ali Baba, we had three things in mind:
- We MAY never eat there again
- We WILL never eat there again
- We ALL look forward to Old-Age
So, while we were still hyped, we decided to stop by at one of our friends' house on Main Street and we watched HOLMES! And that was it for girls' night out!

Global Idiots
Oh God! Since I will be having at least one exam every week till this semester ends, I figured that I might as well blog today since I'm relatively free :) So, today I will be talking about the idiotic actions of people who may not necessarily be idiots but have done pretty idiotic things. And in order to be polite, I will not mention any names. But feel free to have a guilty conscience if I have pointed out your actions.
Excuse this one, I have to mention her name. My one and and only bloggie, Kore! She has abandoned me for a while and has delayed her "Hate list" despite popular demands. Well, Abimbola Omokore, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!
The next idiot on the list is the "orange" - yes, I said orange - girl that sat beside me while waiting for my next class. Question of the day: Why do people constantly feel the need to use tanning beds? Does the word "cancer" not ring a bell, you idiot? Now, its too bad she won't see this.
Next in line is - and when I say line, I don't mean I'm rating the idiots, I'm just writing as I remember them - The girl that told me that I am wrong for saying that abortion is pro-choice. Well, It is called an opinion, and if you don't like mine, Fuck outta here or better yet, Jump off a bridge if you can't take it. By the way, if you get raped, will you keep the child of shame? Shege!
The next idiots are the people who disagree with me that April is the best month. "You get your taxes back and you get to get high" This may be shallow but beat it!
Another big idiot is the person/people who invented Corn Chex! I have mentioned earlier that I hate the smell. Well, whoever suggested this cereal needs to be attached to a great stone and flung into the Atlantic!
Another set of unique idiots are those who keep calling me and hanging up! If I catch you, I'll curse your generation. How can you wake me up from sleep and not talk to me? Are you a retard?
Oh yeah, these are the idiots I just discovered today: When you compliment them on their stuff, they tell you it's real. Me: I like your shoe. The New Idiot: Oh thanks, they're real leather. <---- Who asked you? I wouldn't like them anyway if they weren't real. Gosh!

This next group of idiots are fucktards cuz their own idiocracy can be avoided. I love to call them April Fools (and NO, not the ones you trick, so Nifty don't curse me). April Fools are the fools who feel the need to wear summer dresses in the early cold days of April and still complain that they are cold. Of course, you are cold, idiot!
I'm pretty sure I'm an idiot too for thinking "bloggie" is a word; and I'm also positive that you guys are calling me an idiot for posting this. Yes, I am an Idiot and I embrace it, you know why? Cuz everyone has their moment of idiocracy and this is mine. So, if you're still thinking I'm an idiot for posting this, YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!
There are many more idiots but I can't remember all of them for now, so I may update this list. But for now, enjoy!
Oh yeah, thanks to you all reading and/or following and/or advertising our blog. I will definitely have the next post dedicated to you all. Yes, your lovely names will be mentioned :) And no, you're not idiots :)
Oh and by the way, the word "idiot" (including idiotic and idioracy) was used 25 times in this post. I love idiots, they make my day! Make that 26!

The things I LOATHE
Ok, we have decided to write our hate list!
Disclaimer (looool) : I may be talking about some people's habits here but that doesn't mean I hate you. I probably love you and I'm sure there are some things I do that you hate too, so...
Here is mine:
Well, that's it for now, I shall be updating later
-Miss Jay lol
Disclaimer (looool) : I may be talking about some people's habits here but that doesn't mean I hate you. I probably love you and I'm sure there are some things I do that you hate too, so...
Here is mine:
- I hate double standards! Nuff said.
- I hate when people seriously say they have haters. Get over yourself already
- Don't you just hate it when your friends have a Blackberry, famously known as the BB, and you don't? Ok, I never conform to any form of peer pressure but in this case, I SHALL GET A BB! Thanks to all you traitors who are my friends who have BB's :)
- Even if this is stereotypical, I HATE when a certain type of people, have too much drama. We get it that you're defending yourself; but yelling like a mad-man and clapping your hands doesn't make your points any clearer or unclearer. It only makes you a drama queen.
- I hate Judgemental people. Just because you just realized that you need Jesus doesn't make others sinners!
- I don't like Radical Man-haters. Not all men are pigs cuz I happen to know a lot of good ones and NO, they are not gay; so STOP consoling yourself. On the other hand, I hate Chauvinist pigs; women are not objects!!!
- I hate when people chew loudly. And I hate hearing the crack of crispy foods even when people's mouths are closed.
- I hate Malicious people; talking about: I know you, but that doesn't mean you're my friend. Oh please, cut the crap, Is that really necessary?
- OK, I have mixed feelings about clingy people. I mean, clingy is annoying but I also like when people buzz me form time to time. I'm not gonna front, It kinda makes me feel Loved ;)
- I know this one is a very nice gesture but I hate when someone holds the door for me when walking in. It makes me walk faster to the door, against my wish. There, I said it.
- I hate screeching noises. OMG, when you scratch your metallic chair against the hard floor, I could go deaf and just cry. Right now, I can even feel the horrible feeling. *shrieks*
- I hate brownies; I like chocolate but brownies have a bitter after-taste.
- I hate the smell of corn-chex. Sooo gross!
- I hate coffee breathe! When someone is drinking coffee and talking to me, I hold my breath and try to dismiss the dialogue ASAP!!! Be like me, after eating or drinking an unfavorable meal, EAT CHEWING GUM!
- I hate when people walk out of class when the class is still going on. It is distracting to everyone and disrespectful to the teacher. If you want to leave, sit your ass at the back!
- I hate multiple choice questions for two reasons. 1) They are not a good measure of knowledge. 2) The teachers are always too lazy to have five different options. They'll be there writing: All of the above, None of the above, a and b, etc. Be there confusing young minds! And letting us question our intelligence. Monkey-ass minds!
Well, that's it for now, I shall be updating later
